A new logistics centre has been opened in Dreiliņi, which is three times larger than the previous one. It will cater to a large number of top! stores in the Riga, Vidzeme, and Latgale regions, and will gradually expand its delivery area. The lease agreement was signed between Firma Madara 89 SIA, a partner of the store chain top!, and NORDO Dreiliņi Logistics Park. At present, the centre has a staff of more than 100 people.
“The new 13,000 square metre logistics centre in Dreiliņi is a significant advancement for the continued growth of the store chain top!. This expansion will enhance both efficiency and capacity, reflecting a forward-thinking approach. More than 1 million euro has been invested in the refurbishment of the logistics centre, encompassing the addition of food and non-food storage areas, dedicated sections for fruits and vegetables, and fresh produce with customisable temperature control for each product. Furthermore, a designated picking area for stores and an empty container area have been arranged. The entire warehouse is equipped with energy-saving sensor lighting, the premises are tailored to the employees’ needs, and new warehouse equipment has been acquired,” says Ilze Priedīte, Member of the Management Board and Marketing Director of the store chain top!.
“With the ongoing advancements in technology, a warehouse management system has been successfully implemented in the logistics centre in full compliance with the chain’s security standards. This minimises the possibility of human error and enables prompt tracking of goods, facilitating efficient logistics planning and boosting productivity,” continues Ilze Priedīte.
In 2024, the lease agreement for the premises in which Firma Madara 89 SIA, a partner of the store chain top!, leased warehouse premises for 7 years expired. Over the years, the warehouse premises have become insufficient in size. To address this issue, we have taken the next step in our development by signing a new agreement with NORDO Dreiliņi Logistics Park, a long-standing partner. This logistics park in Riga has established itself as a dependable partner, known for its personalised approach, flexible premises solutions, and responsive team. The park comprises a grand total of 6 buildings, covering an expansive area of nearly 90,000 sq m. It is worth noting that in 2023, all of these buildings were awarded the BREEAM In-Use GOOD sustainability certificates.
