Latgale salad
Ingredients
- 1 kg cucumber
- 60 g vegetable oil
- 50 ml 9% vinegar
- 30 g dill
- 25 g salt
- 20 g sugar
- 1 onion
Preparation video
Slice the cucumbers and place them in a bowl. Add salt, sugar, oil, chopped dill, sliced onion, and vinegar. Mix everything thoroughly and let marinate for 5 hours. Transfer the cucumbers to a pot and cook until they change color. Fill in sterilized jars, seal, place the jars upside down, cover with a towel, and leave for 15 minutes. Then turn them right side up again, cover with the towel once more, and leave until the jars have cooled. Once cooled, store in a cool place.
