New top! store opened in Daugavpils at 21 Arodu Street

In Daugavpils, in the refurbished premises of the former Madara market at 21 Arodu Street, a new grocery store top! opened its doors. On the ground floor with a total area of 2300 m2 there is a grocery store top! with an area of 560 m2, pharmacy, pet shop and other tenants. The new top! store will offer products from local producers, as well as locally prepared culinary and confectionery products, delicious salads, meat and fish products and fresh meat grown in Latvia. The total investment in the project is about 2,000,000 EUR, and the top! store created 50 new jobs.

We invite everyone to familiarise themselves with the changes that have taken place with the former Madara market - from narrow, dark premises, it has turned into a shopping centre with bright, modern, energy-efficient areas with easy access, free parking and a centralised culinary, confectionery and meat workshops. They will produce products not only for Daugavpils, but also for other top! stores in Latgale region. The central warehouse and the base of Latgale online stores are also located here,” Guntars Skutelis, Member of the Board of SIA Pārtikas veikalu grupa says.

The top! in Daugavpils is no exception - the store offers a wide range of locally produced culinary and confectionery products, including freshly baked bread, pastries, patisseries, pies, buns and cakes. The local workshop will pamper customers with delicious salads, meat and fish products, here you can also buy meat grown in Latvia and chopped on the spot. We took care of the wide array of choices for every taste with an emphasis on local producers,” Ilze Priedīte, Member of the Board of the top! chain, said.

“The renovated building has a newly built ventilation system with a cooling and heating function, which ensures the supply of fresh and clean air to the premises. Of course, there is energy efficient lighting. The heating system of the building is connected to the ventilation system, and the recovery of warm air from the production equipment is ensured, which leads to a more efficient use of resources. Store refrigerated display cases are also energy efficient and their refrigerant is environmentally friendly. All external walls of the building are insulated, which ensures more efficient use of energy resources both in winter and summer. The adjacent territory has been equipped: the parking lot has been paved, a new facade has been created and new communication lines have been laid. In 2024, it is planned to open the 2nd floor of this building with a total area of 2000 m2, as well as the opening of another new top! store in Daugavpils.”

The project was implemented by the company SIA Pārtikas veikalu grupa, founded in 2011, a partner of the top! chain with 100% Latvian capital. A total of 10 stores and 6 production workshops - six top! stores, two mini top! stores and one specialised store - employ 160 people. Pārtikas veikalu grupa stores are located in Cesvaine, Lubāna, Varakļāni, Viļāni, Preiļi, Zilupe, Madona, Malta, Krāslava un Ilūkste. In 2020, the company received the “Strongest in Latvia 2020” (Stiprākais Latvijā 2020) award and the certificate, which confirms the high credit rating of the company and a significant contribution to creating a stable future economy for the country. Only 3.5% of Latvian companies meet the strict standards of this certification.
