The top! store chain and Venipak start cooperation - 200 new parcel terminals all over Latvia!

Venipak is entering the Latvian market with a new parcel terminal service and its strategic partner will be the local top! store chain. At the start of the project, the first parcel machines had already been installed in top! stores in Ogre, Daugavpils, Aizkraukle, Jēkabpils, Pļaviņas and Olaine.

The obvious synergy based on the reach of the top! store chain, as well as the emerging trends in public consumption related to online shopping and epidemiological safety, became the basis for the start of cooperation between top! and Venipak,” Ilze Priedīte, Marketing Director of the top! store chain, emphasises. “Cooperation is the next step in the development of our store network and the provision of additional services. Last year, the pandemic contributed to the transition of companies, including ours, to new forms of activity - the development of remote online shopping. The presence of parcel terminals in the cities of the regions of Latvia will ensure convenient receipt of shipments and, moreover, it is epidemiologically safe.”

“The pandemic has undoubtedly changed consumer habits – up to 90% of customers prefer to receive their parcels in parcel terminals, according to data provided by e-commerce companies. The new reality and these data served as the basis for creating our own network of contactless terminals in Latvia,” Dace Spandega, Venipak Latvia Sales Manager, explains. “The expansion in Latvia marks a move towards our company's main goal this year – to create an easy-to-use, easily accessible and secure parcel terminal network across the country, aiming to be everywhere our customers are. In total, 200 Venipak parcel terminals will be installed in Latvia by the end of July 2021.”

The introduction of Venipak QR code system terminals at delivery points in Latvia will allow better management and organisation of the rapidly growing volume of shipments. Comparing data from 2019 and 2020, e-commerce trends show that the number of packages delivered by Venipak in Latvia has increased by 25%. At the same time, consumers will be given more opportunities to choose a convenient and safe way to receive their shipments.

“By introducing contactless parcel terminals, we solved the issue of epidemiological safety and reduced the waiting time for customers to receive a shipment. When the courier delivers the parcel to the terminal, the buyer will receive an SMS with a link to the QR code. Thanks to this innovation, customers will no longer need to touch the terminal screen, and the time for receiving a package will now be only 3-3.5 seconds instead of the previous 30-45 seconds. Local top! stores are a well-known chain of retail stores in Latvia, and most of the stores are located in the Latvian regions. Our goal is to be as close as possible to the consumer, so we were looking for a competent and suitable partner. We believe that cooperation with top! will facilitate everyday shopping for our customers, as they will be able to receive the delivery of purchased goods in convenient locations,” Justas Šablinskas, CEO of Venipak, said.

The top! store chain is the largest chain of stores owned by Latvian entrepreneurs, as well as the third largest chain of retail stores in Latvia. Currently in Latvia under the brand name top! there are 200 grocery stores - 119 top! stores and 81 mini top! stores, owned by 12 local companies, employing more than 4,000 people and supporting local manufacturers and suppliers throughout Latvia.
