Split pea porridge

Ingredients

For 4 servings

  • 400 g yellow split peas
  • Salt
  • 400 g smoked pork
  • 3 onions
  • Pea shoots for garnish

Preparation video

Pour the peas into a bowl, cover with water, and leave to soak for 12 hours. Once the peas have swollen, place them in a pot and add enough water so that the water level is about 2 cm above the peas. Cook the peas, stirring occasionally, until they are completely soft. Add salt, mix well, and remove from the heat. In a pan, thoroughly fry the smoked pork cut into small pieces together with the finely chopped onions. Serve the peas with the fried meat and garnish with pea shoots. Enjoy!
