Apple ‘rose’ pastries
Ingredients
- 500 ml water
- 200 g sugar
- 3 apples
- Puff pastry with yeast
- Cinnamon sugar

Cut apples into quarters, core them, then slice thinly. Dissolve sugar into a pot of hot water. When the water is boiling, add the sliced apples and boil for 3 minutes. Strain and set aside to cool. Thinly roll out the sheets of puff pastry and sprinkle them with cinnamon sugar. Rub the cinnamon sugar into the dough a little. Cut the sheets into 3-centimeter wide ribbons. Spread them apart slightly and top with the apple slices. Roll the ribbons up carefully and place the end product into a baking tray, greased with butter. Sprinkle a bit of sugar in the center of each pastry. Bake for 25 minutes at 200 C. Decorate with powdered sugar.
