Honey cake

Ingredients

24-cm baking pan

Batter

  • 600 g flour
  • 360 g liquid honey
  • 330 g sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 4 teaspoons baking soda

Filling

  • 600 g sour cream
  • 250 g sugar

Preparation video

Beat the eggs with sugar and mix in the honey. Carefully add in the flour and the baking soda. The batter makes two cake layers.

Grease the baking pan with butter and dust with flour. Spread the batter in the pan so that it is about 3 centimeters thick and bake at 180 C for 15 minutes. While the batter is baking, prepare the filling: beat the cream and sugar together. When the cake is ready, slice it lengthways and trim the edges. Spread the filling evenly, add the next layer and spread the filling. Repeat until all layers are done. Frost the outside and top of the cake. Decorate with crumbs, berries, and grated white chocolate.
