Lazy cabbage rolls

Ingredients

For 6 servings

For the rolls

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 500 g mixed ground meat
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 small head of cabbage
  • 125 g rice
  • 1 stock cube
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 handful of chopped parsley

For serving

  • Parsley
  • Sour cream

In a large deep pan, heat the oil. Add finely chopped onion and cook until translucent. Add grated carrot and chopped garlic and cook for a couple of minutes. Add the ground meat, soy sauce, and tomato paste and cook, stirring, until the meat is fully cooked. Add chopped cabbage, rice, the stock cube, and about 300 ml of water. Stir well and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the mixture becomes too dry during cooking, add a little more water. Season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve with sour cream and finely chopped parsley.
